Facts about pad & tampons? Read
If you are a woman and use pads, but especially if you use tampons, read this inform other woman. For the men who are reading this, please tell it to your friends, significant others, sisters, mothers, daughters, etc.) Thanks!
Check the labels of the sanitary pads or tampons that you are going to buy the next time and see whether you spot any of the familiar signs stated in this post.
No wonder so many women in the world suffer from cervical cancer and womb tumors. Have you heard that tampon makers include asbestos in tampons? Why would they do this?
Because asbestos makes you bleed more, if you bleed more, you're going to need to use more. Why isn't this against the law since asbestos is so dangerous? Because the powers that be, in all their wisdom (not), did not consider tampons as being ingested, and, therefore, didn't consider them illegal or dangerous.
This month's Essence magazine has small article about this and they mention two manufacturers of a cotton tampon alternative. The companies are: Organic Essentials @1-800) 765-6491 and Terra Femme @(800)755-0212.
A woman getting her Ph.D. at University of Colorado at Boulder sent the following: 'I am writing this because women are not being informed about the dangers of something most of us use: tampons. I am taking a class this month and I have been learning a lot about biology and women, including much about feminine hygiene. Recently we have learned that tampons are actually dangerous (for other reasons than TSS). I'll tell you this - after learning about this in our class, most of the females wound up feeling angry and upset with the tampon industry, and I for one, am going to do something about it To start, I want to inform everyone I can, and email is the fastest way that I know
HERE IS THE SCOOP:
Tampons contain two things that are potentially harmful: Rayon (for absorbency), and dioxin (a chemical used in bleaching the products). The tampon industry is convinced that we, as women, need bleached white products in order to view the product as pure and clean. The problem here is that the dioxin, which is produced in this bleaching process, can lead to very harmful problems for a woman. Dioxin is potentially carcinogenic cancer-associated)and is toxic to the immune and reproductive systems. It has also been linked to endometriosis and lower sperm counts for men. For both sexes, it breaks down the immune system.
Last September, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that there really is no set 'acceptable' level of exposure to dioxin given that it is cumulative and slow to disintegrate. The real danger comes from repeated contact Karen Couppert 'Pulling the Plug on the Tampon Industry'). I'd say using about 4-5 tampons a day, five days a month, for 38 menstruating years is 'repeated contact', wouldn't you? Rayon contributes to the danger of tampons and dioxin because it is a highly absorbent substance. Therefore, when fibers from the tampons are left behind in the vagina (as usually occurs), it creates a breeding ground for the dioxin. It also stays in a lot longer than it would with just cotton tampons. This is also the reason why TSS (toxic shock syndrome) occurs.
WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?
Using feminine hygiene products that aren't bleached and that are all cotton. Other feminine hygiene products(pads/napkins) contain dioxin as well, but they are not nearly as dangerous since they are not in direct contact with the vagina. The pads/napkins need to stop being bleached, but, obviously, tampons are the most dangerous.So, what can you do if you can't give up using tampons? Use tampons that are made from 100% cotton, and that are UNBLEACHED. Unfortunately, there are very few companies that make these safe tampons. They are usually only found in health food stores.Countries all over the w orld ( Sweden , Germany , British Columbia , etc.) have demanded a switch to this safer tampon, while the U.S. has decided to keep us in the dark about it. In 1989, activists in England mounted a campaign against chlorine bleaching. Six weeks and 50,000 letters later, the makers of sanitary products switched to oxygen bleaching (one of the green methods available) (MS magazine, May/June 1995).
WHAT TO DO NOW:
Tell people. Everyone. Inform them. We are being manipulated by this industry and the government, let's do something about it! Please write to the companies: Tampax(Tambrands), Playtex, O.B., Kotex. Call the 800 numbers listed on the boxes. Let them know that we demand a safe product ALL COTTON UNBLEACHED TAMPONS.
AND FOR THOSE OF US WHO USE SANITARY NAPKINS/PADS:IF u ever wondered what were the ingredients that made popular brands so 'free and light and carefree', well here's the bit:The material that makes the pad so paper THIN, is cellulose gel. YEap, it's not even cotton!!!!!!DO NOT wear the same pad for more than 3 hours of a maximum!!! After this duration, the genital area is prone to bacterial action and may result in cervical cancer or other complications!!!!!!!!!!REMEMBER! NEVER NEVER NEVER WEAR THE SAME PAD FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS!!!!

Gratitude
Where to start. I have quite a number of things I want to say.
Last Thursday; the last night
I got freaked out by you when I accidentally dozed off on the couch. When I woke up few mins later all i see was you face 5cm away from mine. the next thing you said was go and sleep. haha! i think i was just to tired to rebuttal so i just nodded my head, walked towards my bed and bury myself under the covers. I woke up halfway when you were covering me cos my blanket rolled down until waist level. at the same time placed the bolster under my arms. after that i dozed back for a few seconds UNTIL when you switch off the lights i pop up from bed. I THINK I WOKE UP AGAIN! LOL unless im dreaming. hah! anyway i have no idea why man but ya. you noticed and walked towards me and asked why? I answered with a small moan saying nothing and i went back to sleep. HAHAH! funny! LOL but anyway what i wanted to say was you were really sweet.
When i woke up the first time i kinda gleams into you eyes for awhile ,i couldn't see clearly cos i was w/o my glasses but i think I saw care & concern shimmering out from your eyes. aww so sweet. haha! but then again.
I'm touch by your actions.

Last Saturday & Sunday
I used to say you were a hard nut to crack and when you are ready you will eventually step out of your safety zone. I didn't expect you to crack to fast. Last night you confesses to many things at one shot! I was surprised cos judging from you personality and character, i though you would have done it slowly. But I;m glad you did. I appreciated that. Really, I do. I'm glad to be there and have rendered a listening ear for you.

I met my bestie, she is like a sister to me and I told her I confused if I'm liking someone. Many people told me not to fall for him cos he is not so simple. While at anyway case, she added that I have to look within myself and find the answers I'm seeking for. After a while she added, "Pam, you just like playing with fire and always look for danger." I kept silent for a while and though back. Actually what she says does makes sense. But what to do? haha! I'm looking for a roller coaster ride.
I was on MSN with you and our topics were about everything and literally everything. So I told you what my sister told me; ahhah! and you were asking me what kinda of fire. So ya that was how the topics heated up. LOL. I told you that I THINK I'm falling for someone but I'm confused with the feeling I'm having. You asked who but all i said was sorry, i need to confirm my feelings first then PERHAPS i will let you know. So I changed the topic to ask about you. asking if you have anyone in mind; hahaaa what you said was, you never though about liking or looking for some one now. Now that you have all your friends, gf is not what you have been thinking about. so I just left it that way not pursuing anymore. it was after you said this i had this weird warm feeling in my heart.
You said i was too innocent. as for you, you don't even want to hurt me. You just can't bare to hurt me.
When I heard it, i was lost for words. I was shocked like seriously shocked. You said you bully me, but you care. I added saying that you seem to care for everyone you bully. You said I'm one who you pays more attention to. You added that I have your word, no matter how much I don't know about you, you wont play me out. In actual fact, its not that i do not trust you, or maybe its just that I really do not know you well enough to judge you.
I do trust you, but for a player to say this, I'm just surprised.

RED Camp 5
Ah it's finally over. The amazing RED Camp 5. A 3 days day camp catered to secondary school students to explore what NP is about. I would admit, this 3 days were the best! Thanks to everyone who made my RED camp 5 experience so phenomenal. LOVE YOU GUYS. the hardwork, the support, the wildness, the everything to made this a possible OUTSTANDING event!

I wish somehow i can split myself into 3. WHY!?
1. Ytd the apaches went to NP@45 which is held in sch. i think it was to celebrate Halloween.
2. At the same time, the BA Society ppl were there as well. at 4 they had this cheering competition. BUT DUE TO MAEK UP CLASS.. i cant go.
3. the dancesports ppl had a performance AND IF IT WERENT FOR THE MAKE UP CLASSES. I WILL BE PERFORMING!
See how depressing my life is. hmm okay i wont say depressing. more like they just HAPPEN TO BE ALL AT THE SAME TIME.
